Das reduzierte Licht bewirkt, dass die kleinen Bl\u00e4tter mehr Chlorophyll, aber weniger Tannine enthalten. Der Tee wird mild und erh\u00e4lt einen s\u00fc\u00dferen, milderen Geschmack. Gyokuro wird nur einmal im Jahr geerntet, da das Abschatten die Pflanzen schw\u00e4cht und sie anschlie\u00dfend Erholung brauchen.
